Seth MacFarlane Will Rebirth New Animated Series of ?The Flintstones? on Fox

(HMG Celebrity News) ? Yabba Dabba Doo! Seth MacFarlane has finalized a deal with 20th Century Fox TV and Warner Brothers to reboot ?The Flintstones? via new TV and film projects.

According to Deadline, this has always been MacFarlane?s dream project, but it took YEARS for the negotiations. The classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon aired from 1960-1966 on ABC. MacFarlane is known for his edgy humor as creator of Fox cartoon sitcoms ?Family Guy,? ?American Dad? and ?The Cleveland Show,? and that type of humor put some ?Flintstones? shareholders on edge. But Fox confirmed the news at their 2011 Upfronts.

The Flintstones will be produced jointly by 20^th Century Fox Television and Warner Bros. Television.� Warner Bros. is home to The Flintstones via its ownership of the Hanna-Barbera collection of animated titles. Dan Palladino (?Gilmore Girls?) and Kara Vallow (Family Guy) will also serve as executive producers. THE FLINTSTONES will begin production in fall 2011 and will be set in stone and bedrock on the FOX schedule in 2013.
