Bruce Springsteen backs President Obama, blames DC sharks

Bruce Springsteen backs President Obama, blames DC sharks[HMG Celebrity News] ? In the 22-months since his momentous election President Obama has attracted both fans and foes of equal commitment. But few are more passionate about change than Bruce Springsteen. And the Boss thinks the whole of DC is ?ugly.?

The 61-year old musical icon has been a high-profile supporter of Mr. Obama and his plans for reform since day one, but he hates the way critics use ?the most extreme language? to describe plans for quite modest change.

?There?s a political consciousness that?s perhaps deeper in Europe than in the States,? he told Britain?s Telegraph. ?The climate in America is very ugly. The most extreme language is used to describe modest reforms that would move the economy back towards serving the majority of its people.?

Bruce says this is due to ?a tremendous distortion of information? in American politics and blames DC lobbyists for this, and for blocking Barack?s plans for restoring the nation.

?You have a guy who gets to be President for four years. Maybe eight,? he explained. ?But you have financial institutions, the military and the corporations who are in play constantly, and their money and lobbyists are doing everything they can to preserve the status quo. It?s a a very hard time here in the States.?

Springsteen also admits that his support for Obama, especially the use of his song ?The Rising? at the Democrat?s ?Vote for Change? events had cost him some fans. But he has no regrets.

?Most people don?t want to take their political direction from guys who are shaking their ass in front of 60,000 people,? he explains. ?And that?s understandable. So I put my two cents in when I can, to be as helpful as I can when the moment arises.?

And that ass knows success ? In a 45-year career Bruce has won 20 Grammys and an Oscar, and sold over 120-million albums ? So far. His most recent tour also played 65 venues in sixteen different countries. And he?s not even close to retiring.

But do you agree with his views, or is this just another musical talking head who should stick to the stage. Let?s get your vote?
