Randy Quaid declares victory in fight to stay in Canada

(HMG Celebrity News) ? According to the CBC, Randy Quaid and his wife Evi are safe from the clutches of the so-called ?star whackers? for now, because they have been granted permission to stay in Canada, after the Canada Border Services Agency dropped inadmissibility proceedings against him.

The wacky on the run couple was granted refugee status in Canada last fall, despite the fact that both face felony charges and are wanted on $500,000 bench warrants in the U.S.�� Since Evi Quaid?s father was born in Canada, she was granted citizenship on Feb. 10, allowing her to sponsor husband Randy as an immigrant.

At a news conference with his wife and lawyer on Wednesday morning in Vancouver, Quaid said ?When Evi and I came to Canada last October we could never have envisioned how things would unfold and how our lives would change. Today we?re here to say thank you Canada. Thank you for your warm welcome. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to live in peace,? said Randy Quaid in a Thursday news conference.

The Quaids claim that a group of ?Hollywood star whackers? were responsible for the deaths of friends, from David Carradine to Heath Ledger, and feared that they were targets of the same group.� Any chance Lindsay Lohan has any Canadian roots?
