Joe, 21, is currently taking some time off from the band to focus on his solo career and that makes him a lead candidate to join Brit on her ?Femme Fatale? tour.
?The dance element is where my heart is,? he tells Zap. ?Most songs are love-related, but I put the responsibility on myself to try to grab their ears again.?
And joining the tour might work as well for Joe as it would for Britney ? It would give him the chance to showcase his music to a slightly more adult audience than the swarms of tween groupies who made his band a success.
When he dropped out, Enrique?s people made it clear their boy would have brought a full-scale production on the tour and would therefore expect to be more than just Brit?s warm-up act. But with Joe she?d have no such trouble. ? Sources confirm he would do a more low-key set than Iglesias, focusing mostly on his solo material.
In other news, Brit has apparently focused on Nicki Minaj as the new opening act, thus bolting the door on Enrique. Nicki is currently on tour with Lil? Wayne but that tour ends on April 28th so she?d be free to join Brit and Joe on the stage. Discussions are ongoing but the deal looks set to close in a few days, so we?re told.
The talks for Joe to hit the road as Brit?s sidekick are also at an early stage but his new album is due in late Summer / early Fall, so this gig would be perfectly timed to generate visibility [and sales] for it.
