She might have been axed surreptitiously from the US show but it seems Cheryl Cole might still pocket �1.2 million from her US X Factor misfortune, as long as she keeps schtum about what went on.

According to insiders, the ex judge has been offered the deal to prevent her bad-mouthing the show after her bitter exit and will be quite a grand pay out after her short four-day stint as a judge on the show. It will also mean her having to head back to the States to finalise everything.

A blabbermouth source told The Mirror, "Cheryl is going to be paid off if things go to plan. The last thing we need is someone with an axe to grind saying bad things about the show before it even starts. It?s an incredible amount of money for four days' work, but this is a multi-million dollar show with so much invested, it will be worth it."

Sounds complicated and worse still, it might mean we never get to know what really happened over the pond (we?re gossip hounds, you know we like to know exactly what?s going on). But on the other hand Chezza's never been one to chat about her troubles anyway, so we probably wouldn't have got a peep out of her anyway...
